Everything you need to know about Synclio™ and keeping your photos safe.
Synclio is a professional memory card backup tool for photographers and videographers. It automatically detects when you insert a memory card, copies your photos and videos to your computer, and verifies every single file with hash comparison. Your backups are guaranteed to be bit-perfect copies of the originals, and any corruption is flagged the moment it's detected.
Synclio runs on Windows 10/11 and macOS. A background monitoring service is available on both platforms so transfers can start automatically the moment you insert your memory card.
Yes. Synclio is offered as a subscription available in monthly or yearly billing cycles. You can cancel at any time, and your license remains active for the duration of the period you've already paid for.
It depends on your plan. The Standard plan activates on up to 2 computers, while the Studio plan activates on up to 4 computers. It's a good fit for photographers who work across multiple machines or share a workspace.
Hash verification means Synclio calculates a hash fingerprint of each file on your memory card before the transfer, then recalculates the fingerprint of the copied file on your computer. If the two fingerprints match, the file is mathematically guaranteed to be identical. Byte for byte. Any corruption during transfer is caught immediately.
No. Windows and macOS both perform zero post-copy verification when you drag and drop files. They read data from your memory card and write it to disk, but they never re-read the destination file to confirm it landed correctly. Synclio closes that gap with explicit hash verification after every transfer.
Synclio immediately flags the file, records the failure in the transfer log, and alerts you so you know exactly which file has a problem. You get this warning before you format your memory card, so you can retry or take action while the original data is still intact on the card.
Yes. Synclio performs a memory card health check when the card is inserted and monitors it throughout the transfer, helping you catch early signs of a failing card before it leads to data loss.
Yes. Synclio backs up RAW files, JPGs, videos, and any other media on your card. It also keeps RAW+JPG pairs together automatically, which is especially useful for dual-format shooters. Synclio also applies smart filtering to exclude non-critical camera-generated files. Things like thumbnails, system folders, and metadata sidecar files are all skipped, so your transfers are faster and your backup folder stays clean.
Yes. You can configure a custom destination folder for your backups from the Synclio settings panel.
Yes. Synclio includes an Memory Card Verify feature that lets you point to any destination folder and confirm whether your files made it there. It searches your chosen folder (including subdirectories) and checks each file against the originals on your card using hash comparison, so you get a definitive answer about which files are present, missing, or corrupted.
Yes. Synclio includes a background watcher that runs quietly in the system tray and monitors for memory card insertions even when the main app window is closed. The moment a card is detected, Synclio launches automatically and begins the transfer. No manual intervention needed.
Synclio uses Paddle as its payment processor, which accepts all major credit and debit cards as well as PayPal and other regional payment methods depending on your location.
